An at a glance guide to the process of studying with us. See how you will progress from the initial stgaes of selecting a course to the award of your diploma and beyond.

Welcome and induction

We will set up you up on our online learning platform: iAcademy Moodle.

You will be provided with access to your course materials online and/or receive your course materials in the post.

An introductory meeting date/time will be agreed with you. This will be your initial planning meeting that will help to shape your learning journey with your executive coach/tutor.

You will be provided with a personalised timetable for the learning – the timetable is flexible and is designed to fit around your work and life commitments. We also know it will change whilst you are on programme. Your tutor/coach will agree times and dates for e.g.  meetings and assessments that work around your other commitments.

ILM Leadership and management review – your personal SWOT and PEST.

CMI Management diagnostic assessment – this helps us to focus your personal learning programme.

Academy’s materials – workbooks, learning aids, further reading resources, CPD for coaches.

ILM or CMI knowledge banks – thought leadership, research, videos, podcasts.

Hard copy workbooks (for specific programmes).

Wrap around support from ALM’s Learner Management team.

Everything you need to get started and progress through the course.

1-2-1 Coaching and Tuition

Regular monthly meetings to keep you on track and focused.

Explore learning further and prepare you for assessments, observations, coaching meetings.

Professional discussions – applying the learning and new skills at work, career counselling and helping you to develop your route map to achieving your ambitions.

Workshops, Tutorials, and Action Learning Sessions

Interactive sessions that are based around your role, your responsibilities and your organisation.

Hear, discuss, and apply concepts with a tutor, your peers, colleagues and other organisation members.

Assignments and Observations

Online Submission via the learning portal or on online learning platform Moodle

Observations for some programmes

We also encourage line managers and senior managers to become involved in 1-2-1s and group sessions during the programme.

Whilst not formally assessed we encourage learners to make proposals for change and improvement. This helps to embed the learning and provides the organisation with an immediate impact. This can take the form of presentations or short written proposals, whatever form best suits the learner and the organisation.
