As one of the largest ILM centres in the UK, we work closely with ILM and other awarding bodies, our clients and our students to develop new and innovative routes to achieving qualifications.
Our belief is that qualifications should provide recognition of learning, but should not become a barrier to it.
This is why we work creatively with learning outcomes to ensure that our learners achieve them in a practical, work based context, achieving impacts from themselves and their organisations.
We also use accreditation frameworks as the basis for our unique approach to programme design. By evaluating both personal and organisational progress, we are able to quantify progress made by both.
Doing this in the context of ‘accreditation rules’ means that participants and their organisations both feel and can measure the impacts that learning is having, and accreditation is almost a by-product!
We have a strong track record of developing endorsed awards that reflect the unique nature of our clients’ businesses and the learning routes within them.
Programme design
Our team has a strong track record of developing innovative and pragmatic programme designs for our clients.
This is evidenced by the level of outcomes, impact and completion rates achieved for our clients.
We have four clear design principles when designing programmes for our clients and learners.
Learning must be:-
- Practically focused
- Impact based
- Cost effective
- Lead to recognition for the learner, normally by way of a qualification
By applying these principles, we devise creative routes to achieving learning outcomes that may not be immediately obvious.
Our relationship with awarding body and mean that we understand exactly how innovative we can be, but still stay within the rules!
Accreditation
Planning and management
There is an organisational rationale for delivering the programme, which includes the target audience and how they will be recruited, how the programme will be delivered, assessed (if relevant), quality assured and evaluated.
Design and delivery
The programme has been developed in such a way to deliver against objectives which have been set; and optimise the learners experience.
Learner support
The organisation ensures that all those involved in the programme are appropriately briefed and supported.
Quality assurance
There are effective internal quality assurance procedures in place.
Evaluation and continuous development
The training programme is evaluated regularly and action is taken following evaluation.
Assessment
There is a robust assessment methodology and this is supported by effective quality assurance procedures
Leadership and management
The programme meets all the criteria of the core components and the assessment component.
The programme fits within the ILM footprint of leadership, management, coaching or enterprise and an appropriate induction is provided for learners outlining the programme requirements and signposting them to relevant ILM resources.
Annual review
To pick up any changes in the programme you may make e.g. Change to IQA or programme manager, over 20% changes to delivery team and/or to the existing programme, adding a new programme, change of methods, assessment or programme structure.
Following our initial review we will make recommendations where you may need to improve elements of the syllabus, design, delivery and assessment to meet ILM and City & Guilds Standards.
