Your learning journey

At our introductory meeting, we’ll ask about your current situation –
job, career and life so far, and we’ll ask you about what you want to achieve
and for what purpose.

We’ll discuss your current strengths and weaknesses, your targets and ambitions, and we will recommend or devise a learning programme that will help you to achieve your goals.

As you will see from the courses we offer, there are range of programmes, courses, modules, 1-2-1 and group interactions and people involved.

There are a variety of options and choices available to you. We will help you to match your specific requirements with the right learning programme and executive coach or tutor.

We will create a programme, schedule, course components and the learning support and the 1-2-1 coaching and tuition you require to achieve your goals and to become the very best that you can be.

That’s our personal commitment to you.

3. Review

We will review your application and let you know if you’ve been accepted onto the course within 1-2 working days. We’ll also ask you to let us know your preferred start date at this stage.

4. Enrolment, payment and meeting your executive coach/tutor

Once enrolled, we will take payment for your course (or first instalment payment). You will be invited to a course induction with your tutor/coach and we will get you set up on our online learning platform. Your designated learner manager will send you everything you need to begin the course.

5. Your learning journey

Most of our programmes run for 6 months or 12 months (Certificates – 6 months, Diplomas – 12 months, with Awards normally being completed within 2-3 months). Apprenticeships tend to be longer, from 14 months to 24 months.

The learning timetable will be designed around your work schedule and life commitments. The course is delivered through a blended approach, incorporating workshops, online learning, group coaching, work based learning and assessments.

Learners meet regularly with their tutor/coach and are supported in throughout the journey by a dedicated Learner Manager.

A typical month on the programme can include:

  • Workshops and/or individual coaching sessions.
  • Tutorials and/or individual tuition sessions.
  • Virtual, distance learning, in-person or a hybrid approach.
  • Work based learning assignments, built around your learning and organisational objectives.
  • Assessments and/or observations.
  • You will also participate in regular reviews. You will meet regularly with your tutor/executive coach. They are there to guide you, provide professional counsel and to be your conscious throughout the journey.

6. Flexibility

We all have times in life when other priorities and work/life events can take precedence, that is why ILM and CMI allow you to have up to three years to complete your course in your own time.

This said, we don’t recommend long breaks in learning as it can be difficult to get back on track and regain momentum. Our programmes and tutors/coaches will be flexible to meet your needs (within reason!).

7. Completion!

When you do complete your course, we will be the first to congratulate you as we will know exactly what effort you have put in and achieved.

You’ll receive your accredited Award, Certificate or Diploma and we will also provide you with digital credentials which you can use in your CV and professional networks, spreading the word about your achievements.

8. Your turn to assess us

Every good relationship works two ways, so we want you to assess us – your overall experience, learning resources, guidance and support we have provided to you. Your feedback helps us to shape future programmes and learner experiences.

You will be asked to provide your opinions on your learning journey throughout the programme and we will make the adjustments and changes required to ensure that you have the best.

9. You’ll receive an invitation to join the Academy Alumni

We would encourage you to continue your learning experience with the Academy. Our Alumni programme for our past learners is a great way for you to keep your learning and knowledge up to date.

10. Extending your learning journey with us

Wherever you are on your learning journey, there is always more to learn, more to know and more to experience, and with the digital evolution, increasingly more to share.
