Armed Forces – Enhanced Learning Credits Scheme (ELCAS)
The Academy of Leadership & Management is an Approved Learning Provider in the MOD’s Enhanced Learning Credits (ELC) scheme.
Our ELCAS Courses promotes lifelong learning amongst members of the Armed Forces. ELACS provides financial support in each of a maximum of three separate financial years for higher level learning, leading to a nationally recognised qualification at Level 5 or above.
Who can apply?
Those who have served in the Armed Forces possess an abundance of transferable skills that make them stand out in the job market.
Ex-military professionals harbour strong communication and interpersonal skills – gained through past experience of taking and conveying orders.
They are widely known for their self-discipline and resilience; making them reliable employees who are dedicated, organised and punctual in a corporate setting.
Allied to this having an innate ability to work well in a high-pressure environment is another plus which would be attractive to most employers in both commercial and public sector markets.
These skills are relatable to a long list of disciplines and occupations, some of which include the corporate, government, arts and security sectors. Translating these skills into your CV is simple and effective with the right guidance and support.
Our online learning courses can help ex-military professionals to boost their employability and hone the skills they already possess by gaining a qualification in an area such as leadership and management or coaching and mentoring – resulting in a smooth transition into new employment.

Our Approach
Our approach to ELCAS courses and learning programmes has always started by defining the unique needs and challenges facing our students and clients.
By listening to our clients, both serving and ex-military professionals, to understand their specific needs and requirements and working with them to develop and deliver the most appropriate programme for their learning and career objectives.
Most of courses are delivered online, with tutor/coach support. All our study programmes include an element of reflective learning which allows students to reflect on their goals, personal development and progress.
As with all our programmes, defined progression routes are available to further qualifications and higher education.
