Our highly experienced faculty work at all management levels. Their time-served leadership, industry and commercial experience will add real value to your learning.

Meet the team

Our highly experienced faculty have a broad range of leadership and management and coaching and mentoring experience. They work at junior, middle and senior management levels up to CEOs of large public, private and third sector organisations, as well as delivering coaching and management development programmes for blue chip clients.

Our learners will often be interested in developing their skills within their current role and increasing their readiness for the next step in their career. Our executive coaches and tutors are there to provide you with guidance and to be your trusted sounding board.

It is unlikely that your relationship with your coach or tutor will end when the programme ends, in fact for many it is just the beginning of a life long professional and personal relationship.

Directors and Associate Directors

John Parker

John Parker is the Chair of the Academy of Leadership and Management. He is a highly experienced HRD professional and executive coach.

John Patterson

John Patterson is the Managing Director of the Academy of Leadership & Management and he extensive experience and expertise in senior management in manufacturing, engineering and construction sectors.

Russell Parker

Russell Parker is the Academy’s Finance Director. As in every family business he also wears a number of other hats.

Janet Parker

Co-founder / Director of Special Projects. Janet established her first business in 1988 and 35 years later she still has the same enthusiasm for running and managing a growing family business.

Craig McArthur

Associate Director. Craig had a 25 year career in professional and financial services working in business development, practice management and marketing roles before joining the Academy in 2023.

Janice Clegg

Janice has 30+ years’ experience in global businesses including at Director level, has lectured at university within a Business School and holds an MBA.

Brenda Emslie

Brenda Emslie is a learning and development consultant, specialising in the areas of leadership and management in a career which has spanned over 30 years.

Ashley Lloyd

Ashley has been an experienced leadership and management facilitator and coach since 2014 and holds ILM Level 7 Certificates for Executive Coaches and Leadership and Management.

Pam Weeden

Pam Weeden is a Senior Executive Coach and has 27 years experience in the education sector.

Jane Walter

Jane is an experienced leadership and management facilitator and prior to this she worked in primary education for 20+ years.

Laura Caunter

Laura manages leadership and management training programmes and executive coaching activities for a range of public and private sector clients and she is Professional Certified Coach (ICF PCC).

Maria McGrath

A Fellow member of ILM, Maria is an experienced Learning and Development Professional. She joined the Academy in 2024 as an Executive Coach and Senior tutor and she leads a number of apprenticeship and coaching development programmes for clients.

Julia Tybura

Following 20 years in executive director of HR in healthcare/charity sectors, Julia now has a portfolio of consultancy, NED/Trustee, teaching and coaching roles.

Thierry Gregorius

Thierry provides leadership coaching, career coaching, leadership development programmes, and coaching training for a wide range of individuals and organisations.

Dr Helen Wright

Helen specialises in challenging leaders to understand themselves and their organisations more effectively, and to become empowered to enact the change that they and their organisations need in order to thrive.

Rob Snell

Rob’s background in HR, and his extensive involvement in the people aspects of work, has developed his passion for coaching, supervision and workplace mediation as a way of supporting people to succeed at both an individual and team level. ILM L7 qualified coach and coach supervisor.

Krasi Toneva

Krasi is a Level 7 Executive Coach, an EMCC Senior Practitioner and an experienced senior HR leader with Chartered MCIPD status. She is also a DISC facilitator, workplace mediator, and holds further recognised professional credentials aligned to senior and system-level work.

Radha Pillai

Radha is an ILM qualified Executive Coach & Mentor. Following a 25 legal career working with various Councils she is now a transformational leadership coach working in local government and other public and commercial sectors.

Sunil Naphray

Sunil is an experienced Executive Coach for the Level 7 Senior Leader Apprenticeship and has over 33 years of experience in education, leadership development, and public-sector services. His values-driven, inclusive coaching approach is formed by a long career in adult education, leadership and coaching.

Carolyn Oxley

Experienced CIPD-qualified professional in Learning and Organisational Development, with a strong track record across diverse sectors. Skilled in designing innovative, blended development strategies that enhance performance and align with strategic goals including management, leadership and high potential development.

Daniel Bourne

Daniel is our Senior Assessor. He support our learners across multiple programmes through assessment of their work and providing specific feedback for their development. Daniel has a Masters degree in International Human Resources, a PGCE, Level 4 IQA certificate, and a 25 year career in HE, FE and vocational training.

Patricia Lauret

A professional Learning and Development Consultant, Patricia is highly qualified with specialised qualifications linked to adult education course design, delivery, learner support, assessment, quality assurance, verification and programme mapping. She gets to the heart of what might be need quickly and supports learners to apply their learning in workplace in order to have a meaningful impact.

Professor Gary McEwan

Professor Gary McEwan is an inspirational, motivational and entrepreneurial leader and mentor who has extensive experience in the forming and scaling of businesses.

Eddy Graham

Eddy moved into the private sector in 1996, and in 2002 set up ibp Strategy & Research which specialises in economic and social research, with an emphasis on business and economic development.

Marion McMath

Marion is learner manager for all ILM and CMI qualification programmes in Leadership and Management and Coaching and Mentoring. She is also the Academy’s ILM and CMI approved centre co-ordinator.

Pauline Smith

Pauline is programme manager for all apprenticeship programmes and Premier Adviser. She also manages all of our SOLACE learners and the associated programmes and qualifications.

Lorna Johnstone

Lorna provides support to Marion and is learner and assessment manager for ILM and CMI programmes. She also provides support to our our employer clients and group cohort programmes.

Heather Gamble

Heather provides support to Pauline and is programme and assessment manager for ILM and CMI programmes, SOLACE programmes, as well as the apprenticeship standards Level 3, 5 and 7.

Rosie Patterson

Rosie is the Academy’s Systems and Technology manager.

Pha Bourne

Pha is a programme manager for all of our leadership, management, coaching and project apprenticeships.
